MODAVIS stands for Multimodal Organological Data Analysis and Virtualization Systems. It brings together research on musical instruments, linked data, acoustic documentation and interactive digital representations.

The project developed within Dominik Ukolov’s doctoral research in Leipzig, with pipe organs as its principal instrument case. Its outputs include the MODAVIS Ontology Network, the Virtual Acoustic Object standard, the Pipe Organ Dataset and specialist research software.

A connected collection

This website is an entry point into that work. The map shows relationships between research questions, practical tools and foundational standards. Each notebook offers a more deliberate path through one part of the project.
